Vietnam borders China to the north, Cambodia to the south-West and Laos to the north-West.
The country’s east coast is open to the Ocean with 3 260 km of coastline. The continental shelf has a surface area of around 700,000 km2, with an Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of more than 1 million km2
Viet Nam has over 4,000 islands and the coast has more than 400,000 hectares of mangroves.
The largest importers of Viet Nam's seafood are Europe, the US, Japan, South Korea, China & ASEAN. Seafood export in 2006 totaled US$3,348 M
